HYPNOTHERAPY SERVICES
What kind of problems can hypnotherapy help?
Fears, phobias, low self-esteem issues, unwanted habits - i.e. nailbiting, relationship problems, exam/test nerves (otherwise known as ‘performance anxiety’) and quit smoking to name just a few. What all these have in common is that they are usually symptoms with emotional causes.
Prescription drugs may alleviate the symptoms but they do not resolve psychological causes and they often create dependency or side-affects. Reassurance, advice and/or lecturing aren't usually much better! A good therapist will encourage the client to be frank, to recall and to respond to skilled questioning in a professionally organised therapeutic relationship. Hypnosis can be used with some people to get to the deeper parts of the mind more easily. When used by a trained practitioner to help you understand yourself, it may be invaluable.
There are reasons for emotional problems, addictions, nervous symptoms and faulty life patterns. A good therapist will therefore help you to investigate these causes and look at the underlying reasons for a problem. This enables you to re-programme your thinking, and not merely suppress the symptoms, which simply masks the original problems and can be dangerous. The most obvious reasons are not always the only reasons. Sometimes they turn out to be not the reason at all.
